Obituary of Doris Palmer
Doris Toddy Palmer, 93, of Hudson, left her earthly home at Laurel Lake on Aug 5, 2014 to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus.
She was born in Cleveland on February 19, 1921 and graduated from Shaker Heights High School and attended Ursuline College. She married James M. Palmer and they enjoyed over 50 years together.
Doris was an avid gardener, bridge player, a tennis ace, and a devoted homemaker. Her home was often full of friends and family, and she welcomed many with a smile, quick wit, and the chance off-key song. A pillar of Hudson’s growing community, she volunteered her time serving the homeless and caring for others.
She will be missed by her siblings, Adeline Hildebrandt and Clayton Toddy, as well as children Leslie Palmer Turner, Jim Palmer, Susan Palmer Starr, and Ginny Thomas. She had 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, whom she loved spending time with.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the Laurel Lake staff and Crossroads Hospice who gave wonderful, loving care to our mother.
A celebration of life will be held at Redmon Funeral Home in Stow on Friday, Aug., 8, 2014 at 5 PM and where the family will receive friends and family at 4:30 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the LL Foundation, 200 Laurel Lake Dr., Hudson, OH 44236 or Crossroads Hospice Care, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr., Suite E, Green, OH 44685.
