Obituary of Mildred A. Csonka Sholler

STOW—Mildred A. Csonka Sholler (nee Heath), 90, passed away July 25, 2014 following a brief illness. Millie was born in Akron, resided in Stow for many years and retired in Rootstown and lived with her daughter Nancy in Tallmadge for the past several years.   She was employed by and retired from the United States Postal Service.  She was preceded in death by her husbands; Joseph A. Csonka and Frank Sholler, parents; Reedie and Nora Heath, brothers; Robert and Ralph Heath.  She is survived by her children; Joseph Csonka  (Cindy) of Lisbon, Norita Csonka (Jan Winfield) of Atlanta, Anita (Gytis) Bartkus of Mansfield, Larry R. Csonka (Audrey Bradshaw) of Lisbon, Nancy Csonka (Tim Kelly) of Tallmadge, Andy (Valerie) Csonka of San Francisco, grandchildren; Anthony Csonka, Michael Csonka, Kathryn Csonka, Anthony (Jennifer) Altomare, Douglas (Brenda) Csonka, Paul Csonka, Lori (Ben) Clark, Andrea Dawn Csonka (David), Angela, Andrea, Melody Santiago; great-grandchildren; Carly Csonka, Corbin Csonka, Garrett Csonka, Kyle Csonka, Ben (Samantha) Muniz, Emma Altomare, Jacob Csonka, Page Csonka, La Tosha Csonka, Emerson Clark, Kayla Csonka, Brianna Csonka, Sean Freidus, EmmaLee Blosser, great great-grandchild ; Mila Csonka and sister-in-law, (the sister she never had) and lifelong friend Edna Csonka.  During her 90 plus years on earth she touched countless people with her love, kindness and compassion.  Some people are blessed with an aura of sincere caring and kindness which comforts all they come in contact with and leads to instant friendships.  Such a person was Millie.  To know her was to love her.  There was never a problem she could not fix.  Cuts or bruises from a sledding accident; call Millie.  Fell out of a tree; call Millie.  Have the flu; call Millie.  The orphaned calf needs bottle fed; call Millie.  The cat won’t take a pill; call Millie.  And above all if you’re hungry; find Millie.  Her kitchen table was never empty.  Her pies, short bread cookies, cabbage and noodles and stuffed peppers were legendary.  The smell of their baking was like a GPS which listed her kitchen as the destination for all the children in the neighborhood.  However the real dish that was always served by Millie was love.  She loved children, family, animals and life.  She will live forever in the memories and thoughts of all those who knew her and were touched by her.  She once said about death that it is easy for the one passing but so difficult for the loved ones left behind.  We now see that as usual, Millie was right.     Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Wednesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, where funeral services will be held Thursday 11 AM.  Burial Holy Cross Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Pawsibilities Humane Society of Greater Akron,  7996 Darrow Rd.  Twinsburg, OH 44087.
