Obituary of Jack L. Overholser
Stow Resident, 64, passed away July 13, 2014.
Jack Overholser, "The Big Guy" with an even bigger heart was born September 6, 1949 to Don and Lydia Overholser in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jack was a hard working retiree from Daimler Chrysler with 39 years of service to the company. Jack currently was working part time for Stow City Schools to fulfill his need to keep busy. Jack did however enjoy his retirement by traveling, watching and attending Nascar events, landscaping his yard and grooming his second love, Annie, his Jack Russell Terrier.
His BIG HEART and kindness continued even after his death, Jack was a Life Banc Organ Donor and was able to give the gift of sight by donating his corneas.
Preceded in death by his parents Donald and Lydia; and step-mother Norma Overholser, he is survived by his wife of 43 years and high school sweetheart, Gloria Overholser and as he used to say, his oldest, middle and youngest daughter, Beth Roberts; his son-in-law Walt Roberts; and his 2 pride and joy grandsons, Nick and Michael Roberts which he loved to brag about; sisters, Charlene and Kathy; brothers, Rick, David, and Jimmy; and half-brother Donnie.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Saturday 1 to 3 PM. Services in Indiana to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, Ohio 44406 or American Heart Association, Great Rivers Affiliate, P.O.
