Obituary of Glendora Nordlie
STOW – Glendora Nordlie (nee Raasch) 90 passed away July 10, 2014.
Born in Norfolk, Nebraska on November 2, 1923 to Philip and Erna Raasch, she lived most of her adult life in Stow. She received her Associate degree from Lindenwood College in Missouri, worked at Goodyear Aircraft Corporation and Weaver Industries. Glendora was active in Meals on Wheels, Summit County Board of Children’s Services, Band Parents, Girl Scouts, League of Women’s Voters, Stow and Akron Women’s City Clubs. Glen was an avid bridge player and golfer and a longtime member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church of Stow where she was active in Bible study.
She married Robert (Bob) Nordlie on November 19, 1949 in Norfolk, Nebraska and was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Deborah, sister Betty Lou McCumber and brother Dan Raasch. She is survived by brother Philip Raasch, Jr. of Norfolk, NE, son David (Donna) of Sagamore Hills, OH, daughter Kristine (Todd) Williams of Lawrence, KS, daughter Beth Nordlie of Eudora, KS and grandchildren Luke Nordlie, Zachary Williams, Anne Nordlie, Aaron Williams and Leah (Corey) Williams Taylor.
The family wishes to thank Elmcroft Senior Living of Sagamore Hills and Crossroads Hospice for their loving care.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Sunday from 6 to 8 PM. Rev. Arthur Cubbon will conduct service at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 3725 Kent Road, Stow, OH 44224 Monday 11 AM. Interment Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to St. Stephen Lutheran Church.
