Obituary of Josephine Theresa Bolognue
Josephine Theresa Bolognue, beloved matriarch, 96, of Silver Lake, passed June 27, 2014 after a long illness.
Born May 2, 1918 to Mauro and Rosa Pasquale in Akron, she married Frank Bolognue on April 27, 1940. Josephine served on the board of The Children’s Hospital “Day at the Races” Harness Race Rally for nearly 30 years. A longtime advocate of the International Institute of Akron and the Cuyahoga Falls Women’s Club, she was also a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Cuyahoga Falls.
Josephine was happiest surrounded by her family and her large circle of friends, travelling and was widely recognized as a highly skilled cook and shopper by all.
Preceded in death by her husband Frank in 2004, daughter-in-law Loretta Bolognue, and brothers Tony and Joe, she is survived by her children, Joseph Bolognue, Michael (Kelly) Bolognue, Luisa (Chris) Law and Frank II (Karen) Bolognue; grandchildren Shelley, John, Rene, Shelley, Brian, Jason, Joseph, Tiffany and Jennifer; 17 great-grandchildren and siblings Lolly and Billy Patsy and Frank Pasquale.
Josephine’s family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to her devoted sister Lolly and to The Briarwood Nursing Home and Hospice of VNS for their excellent care.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Wednesday 4 to 8 PM. Mass of the Christian Burial Thursday 11 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls 44223. Burial Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Akron Children’s Hospital, 1 Perkins Square, Akron 44308 or Hospice of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron 44333.
