Obituary of Joyce Mettler

STOW - Joyce Mettler, 91, passed away May 17, 2014.  Joyce was born to Martin and Emma Fearick August 24, 1922 in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. She moved to the USA and settled in the Stow-Munroe Falls area with her husband Allen in 1952. She worked for Howard's Children Shop, Kent State University and GenFed Credit Union. Joyce was best known for her endless energy, her strong will and courage. Joyce loved life and loved to have purpose. She stayed busy right to the end. She also loved her family dearly. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and looked forward to and believed in the hope of the resurrection. She will be dearly missed.  She was preceded in death by her husband Allen, and sons Bruce and Mike. She is survived by daughter Jill (Al); grandchildren Diana and David, Cristie, Neal and David, Julian, Candy and Alan, Melissa, Joshua and Teresa; and 14 great-grandchildren.  Special thanks to 'Mary' and the wonderful nursing staff and STNA's at Kent Healthcare and Harbor Light Hospice including Bill, Rebecca, Beth and Jessica who gave Joyce such special care.  A Memorial service will be held at Redmon Funeral Home Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 5 pm, where friends may call from 3 PM until service time. Private Burial Oakwood Cemetery.
