Obituary of Charles B. Zukas
Stow – Charles B. (The Buzz) Zukas, age 83, passed away unexpectedly in his home on May 18, 2014.
Charles was without question the greatest husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather a family could ever hope for. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He was a lifelong resident of the Stow area and a Korean War Army Veteran. He was employed by Wickliffe Floral for the past 20 years in which he enjoyed bringing beauty into everyone’s life. He was the type of man who never knew a stranger and he will be sadly missed.
Charles is survived by his beautiful and devoted Wife Vera, to whom he was married to for 58 years; 3 sons Keith (Robyn) Zukas, James Zukas, Chuck (Shirley) Zukas; daughter Laura Ryan and her fiancée Mitch Shape; niece Lynn (Mark) Brown, as well as numerous nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends, and his 2 special cats Baby and Lady. He also held a special place in his heart for Mary (Steve) Williams, Glen Ryan, Sherry Zukas, and Michele Zukas. He is preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Catherine Zukas; a son Kenneth Zukas; grandson Jimmy Zukas; and his sister and brother-in-law Vera and James Gagliardo.
Cremation has taken place and Charles requested that there be no memorial service. However, family and close friends are invited to a special gathering to celebrate his life in a private dining room at Beef O’ Brady’s at the corner of Graham Rd and Darrow Rd (Rt. 91) in Stow on Saturday, May 24, 2014 from 5pm to 8 pm.
