Obituary of Betty J. Loree
STOW - Betty J. Loree passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5, at the age of 90.
Born in Youngstown on April 18, 1924, to the late Hobart and Helen Scott, Betty was a long-time resident of Stow. She enjoyed pursuing many hobbies such as painting, sewing, cross stitch, and crafts, visiting with her large family in their homes and on vacations, and hiking paths in the Metro Parks, which she did until she was 88.
Preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bruce,” her son Richard, her great-grandson Boyd Warren, and her sister and brother-in-law Jean and Marty Mayer; she is survived by her children Cheryl (John) Jamerson, Carol (John Hauser) Wooley, Robert, and Christine (Dean) Warren; her daughter-in-law Carrie Loree and her sister, Dorothy (Wally) Lemley.
She also leaves her grandchildren Michael (Julie) Davis, Scott (Sarah) Davis, Dave (April) Jamerson, Tom Jamerson, Kip (Jodie) Brady, Erin (Vince) Rega, Sarah (John) Merritt, Paul Loree, Patrick (Suzie) Loree, Bethany (Dave) Lindsay, Philip Loree, Payton Loree, Amber (Larry) Peters, Christopher Loree, Eric Loree, Raquel Loree, Matt (Carrie) Warren, Jacob (Sarah) Warren, and Beth (Elliott) Belquist as well 30 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and many nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank all of the wonderful people at Stow Glen, Akron General, and Traditions for the outstanding care they gave Betty during the last challenging year of her life.
Rev. Jonathan Rumburg will conduct service Tuesday 11 AM at First Christian Church of Stow, 3493 Darrow Road, Stow 44224, where friends may call from 10 AM until service time. Private burial Stow Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to First Christian Church of Stow.
