Obituary of Helen Hefferon
Helen Smith Hefferon born February 6, 1924 in Copley, OH died April 11, 2014.
Helen was the loving wife of Thomas J. Hefferon and is survived by her children, Celeste Duer (Rex) Mallott, Camille Duer (James) Greenwald, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Duer and Monica Duer (John deceased) Pennington, grandchildren, Max (Susan) Allman, Alexa (Matt) Malott Tonner, Audrey Duer, Trevor (Erin) Duer, Vanessa Duer, Austin Duer, Samantha Greenwald, Jamie Greenwald, great-grandchildren, Krystyna and Caroline Allman. She is also survived by her sisters, Natalie Wahl, Mary (Bud) Brown. She was preceded in death by sisters Wanda Vail, Jo Luchsinger and brothers Walter and Stanley (Betty) Smith.
Helen attended Buchtel High School and the University of Akron. She worked as a buyer for Kaufmann’s , a personal shopper for Higbee’s and sold real estate in Cleveland. She loved cooking, entertaining, crossword puzzles and tennis. She was also a member of the Silver Lake Garden Club and Knitwits, but most of all Helen loved and was loved by her family.
Service will be conducted at the Redmon Funeral Home Monday 1 PM where friends may call Monday from Noon until service time. Interment Rose Hill Burial Park. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurse, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, OH 44333.
