Obituary of Richard W. Kieffer
STOW - Richard W. Kieffer, 75 went home to be with the Lord Sunday, December 28, 2014. He was born on March 7, 1939 in Youngstown, Ohio and resided in Stow most of his life.
A graduate of Youngstown State (B.S.) and The University of Akron (M.S.) he was an engineer and retired from Praxair in 2001. In addition to his work, he loved and cared for his family and the people around him. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, golfing and spending time with his grandchildren. He had a passion for volunteer and mission work and was actively involved in his church throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by many.
Preceded in death by his mother and father, William and Anna Kieffer; brother, Robert Kieffer; and grandson Joshua Takacs. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy; daughters Jennifer (Jon) Gerckens and Sandra Kieffer (Bryan Katzenmeyer); grandchildren Allie and Katie Gerckens and Skylar and Cooper Takacs; sisters, Kathy (Jack) Kish and Janet Carlini; many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7pm at Redmon Funeral Home in Stow. Service of Christian burial will be held Saturday, 10:30am at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Cuyahoga Falls. Interment Silver Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Akron Pregnancy Services or Redeemer Mission Fund.
