Jennie Rocko, 87, passed away, unexpectantly, on Dec. 3, 2013. She was born in Toronto, OH to the late Albert and Joanna Rocko. She attended Kent State University where she received her BS and MS in education. Jennie first taught school in Stow and then in Cuyahoga Falls at Sill, Preston and Richardson elementary schools. Upon retirement, she was honored with the title “Teacher Emeritus”. She was a dedicated and loving teacher who loved her students and they loved her. Upon retirement, she devoted time to tutoring students and was a long time member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish.
Jennie is survived by her brother, Charles (Matilda), her nephews Mark and Greg (Lisa) who were the pride of her life, including her great-nieces and nephews Lindsey, Bryan, Sarah, Kristen, and Adam. They in turn were devoted to her. She had many, many friends, epically Georgia, Loretta, Marian, and Rosemary who lived in her apartment complex.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls and where friends may call Monday one hour prior to mass. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to a charity of their choice.
