Obituary of Viola Jean DeJacimo
Viola Jean DeJacimo passed away on November 28, 2013, at age 98. Viola was born and raised on North Hill in Akron, married Michael in 1940 and raised her family there. She moved to Stow in 1972 where she lived for the past 41 years. Viola was a loving homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a fabulous baker and shared her delicious cookies and pastries with family and friends. Baking was a hobby she truly enjoyed. She belonged to the Red Hat society, many local community organizations, and loved playing bingo. She shared many wonderful trips with her husband until his death in 1991.
Viola was preceded in death by her husband Michael; grandson, Michael Stephen; granddaughter, Brenda Lynn, and son-in-law, Tom Goodall. She is survived by son Michael (Patricia); daughters Carol Goodall, Rita Kane (Thomas), and Janet Gliha (Jeffrey), 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, on Sunday, December 1. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 2, at 10 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stow. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
The family would like to thank all the staff at The Gardens of Western Reserve of Cuyahoga Falls for their wonderful care.
