Obituary of Marion Alice Sanborn
Marion Alice (Weezy) Sanborn, Age 86, of Hudson, Ohio, passed away November 11, 2013. She was born in Shaker Heights, Ohio, in 1926 to Marion Herrick Sanborn and Judge Ralph William Sanborn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Ralph William (Bill) Sanborn, Jr. and John Herrick Sanborn, and her sister Marjorie Sanborn (English) Sheldon. She is survived by her sister Jean Sanborn Lombard, nine nephews and three nieces, her favorite being……….... She graduated from Upper Arlington High School and The Ohio State University with a Doctorate in Physical Education. She is honored as one of Upper Arlington Hall of Fame’s “Tradition Hall.” She co-authored Issues in Physical Education, a standard for Physical Education teachers in public and private primary schools. She taught school at all levels in Florida, Illinois, Connecticut, and Ohio, finishing her career with the Shaker Heights, Ohio, public school system. Weezy was a long-time member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Hudson, Ohio. She had many hobbies and interests including birding, swimming, tennis, and garage saling. She was a world traveler, and especially loved the Galapagos.
A memorial celebration of life service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, November 23, 2013, at the Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to “Back to the Wild”, a world renowned wild animal, bird rehabilitation, and education center – 4505 Bardshar Road, PO Box 423, Castalia, Ohio 44824.
