Obituary of Warren Armstrong
STOW- Warren L. Armstrong, 69, passed away November 13, 2013.
Preceded in death by his parents George and Kathryn Armstrong, brother
Roger Armstrong and daughter-in-law Allison Armstrong, he is survived by
his wife Claudia; sons Adam and Christopher (Ellie); grandchildren Paige,
Hayleigh, Mollie, Malcolm, Brogan and Simone; sister Ellen Armstrong and
brother Gary Armstrong.
Warren met Claudia at Kent State University in freshman geology class and
he always said that "their relationship started on the rocks." They were
married for 44 years. They raised their children in Stow, living here for
most of Warren's life. He dedicated his life to his family and his
students. Since retiring after 35 years of teaching science at Kimpton
Middle School, he continued weekly ballroom dance lessons and events with
his wife Claudia for over a decade. Together they performed at many dance
showcases after weeks of practice and preparation on the ballroom dance
floor in their basement. He also enjoyed golf with friends throughout his
life having his best year on the links in 2013. Generally quiet and
reserved in public, Warren had a sharp sense of humor enjoyed by his family
and friends. During his years as a teacher, he may be best remembered for
his daily quotes and sayings that ranged from humorous to motivational that
he wrote on the chalkboard. One of his favorites was "Shoot for the moon in
all you do and even if you miss you will be among the stars." His wit and
wisdom will be missed.
Pastor Adam Speas will conduct the service Sunday 3 PM at Redmon Funeral
Home, where friends may call from 12 noon until service time. Private
burial Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. Should friends desire, memorials
should be made to The Haven of Rest.
