Obituary of Edward T. Volchko
STOW- Edward T. Volchko, 84, died November 12, 2013.
Born in Akron, he was a longtime Stow resident and US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Volchko retired from Ohio Bell in 1991 after 38 years service and was a member of St. Eugene Catholic Church. Ed was an avid walker and attended many events such as the U.S. Grand Prix in Indianapolis, Mid-Ohio races, and his grandsons’ many sporting and musical endeavors. He enjoyed visiting the Outer Banks lighthouses on his annual journey along the eastern coast and collecting their replicas.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Juanita; son Kevin (Rebecca) of Cuyahoga Falls; grandsons Matthew, Nathan and Andrew; sisters Helen (Jim) Davies of Wadsworth, Paulyne Popiel of Cuyahoga Falls, Irene Volchko and Anna Volchko, both of Akron; brother Delbert (Jan) Volchko of Huntsville, AL., sister-in-law Ruth Volchko of Akron and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Friday 6 to 8 PM. Mass of the Christian Burial Saturday 10 AM at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 1821 Munroe Falls Ave., Cuyahoga Falls, 44221. Burial Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Redeemer Christian School, 2141 Fifth Street, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221.
