Obituary of William L. Eckley
KENT – William L. (Bill) Eckley, 75, formerly of Tallmadge, died October 21, 2013.
Born in Akron, he had lived in Kent for nine years, was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Cuyahoga Falls and also attended The Chapel on Fir Hill. Bill was an avid car enthusiast who enjoyed attending car shows with his classic car. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and vacationing at Siesta Key beach. Bill began his long career in the rubber and plastics industry at Teledyne before starting his own successful company, Urethane Products Industries, Inc.
He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie; daughter Karen (Darryl) Demeter of Granger, IN; sons David (Debbie) Eckley of Coppell, TX and Scot Vaughan of Cuyahoga Falls; 6 grandchildren, sister Sue (Ray) Jones of Akron and special friend Jay Carano.
Pastor Myron Lindsey will conduct a memorial service Thursday, 7 PM at Redmon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Marshall Legacy Institute, 2425 Wilson Blvd. Suite 240 Arlington, VA 22201.
