Obituary of Carol Lee Starkey
STOW- Carol Lee Starkey, 71, died October 9, 2013.
Born in Barberton in 1941, she attended Manchester schools where at the age of 5 met her future husband Jim Starkey in the first grade. They graduated together in 1959 and were married on July 2, 1961, the first couple to be married at the Manchester United Methodist Church. They moved to Stow in 1966. Carol had been employed as a library assistant with the Stow-Munroe Falls schools and was a member of Stow Alliance Fellowship.
Carol is the love of Jim’s life, an extraordinary person, wife mother and grandmother. Carol was diagnosed with a serious heart condition and had surgery in 1993 at Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston.
God has supplied numerous miracles over the last twenty years to enable them to be together. They give thanks and praise to the Lord for the years they had together. Married for 52 years and together for 64 years. All of which, they give God the glory. She has shown all the meaning of beauty, grace and dignity. Carol has blessed her family and has been a blessing to many others. Carol was especially proud of her granddaughters, Morgan and Hailee. We all loved you MIMI and miss you so.
Carol’s mission in life was to take care of her home and family.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years Jim; sons Jim, Jr., and Michael (Renee); grandchildren Morgan and Hailee; brothers Donald (Joan) Blaz, David (Lisa) Blaz and Larry (Pam) Blaz.
Jim and Carol would like to thank Dr. Devin Nagy of Akron General Medical Center for his compassion and care.
