Obituary of Florence Alice Westman Davis

CUYAHOGA FALLS- Florence Alice Westman Davis, died September 20, 2013. She was born in Erie, PA June 3, 1920, daughter of the late James B. Yard and Alice B.A. Daniel Yard.  She graduated Strong Vincent High School in Erie, PA where she was a member of the Acapella Choir. She loved working with her friends and customers at Conkey’s  Groceries in Erie and later Durbin’s and Stutzman’s in Cuyahoga Falls and Hallmark Cards.  She loved her church, St. Eugene’s, her faith and her many friends there, as well as all who have passed through her life, especially her family. Florence had a “forever young playful philosophy” for living.  She left behind a “blanket of wisdom" and “sweet memories” to savor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Howard G. Westman, two brothers, William and Daniel Yard, three sisters, Mary Yard Dean, Amanda Kennedy and Laural Grace Carideo. Florence was a “fun loving mother” to Barbara A. Malson (Richard A.) and Janice M. Hagaman (James A. Robinson).  She leaves behind six grandchildren, Tracey Malson (Scott), Rick Malson (Ellen), the late Scott Malson (Sue), Tami Hagaman, Brook Hagaman (Catherine) and Danielle Hier and her 16 “greats” Matthew (Clorice), Bethany, Stephanie, Jessie, Rick, Joanna, Tyler, Brock, Logan, Joey, Nathen, Emily, Samantha, Mason, Jacob and Noah. Flo would like to thank “her girls” who provided her with loving care during her last years at home, Anita, Michelle, Ella, Connie, Jamie, Misty, Carol and granddaughter Tami.  Flo's family would like to also thank Hospice of Summa for their wonderful care. Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.  Mass of the Christian Burial Wednesday 11 AM at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 1821 Munroe Falls Ave., Cuyahoga Falls 44221.  Burial Northlawn Memorial Gardens.  Should friends desire, memorials may be made to St. Eugene Catholic Church or to Hospice of Summa, 444 N.
