Obituary of Hazel Ruth Heskett

MUNROE FALLS - Hazel Ruth Heskett, 85, went on to a new life with Jesus Christ on Monday, May 6, after a short illness. Born Hazel Ruth Thomas, she was raised in Akron and was graduated from East High in 1946.  She studied art at Kent State University until she married Don Heskett who would be her husband for 58 years.  Both were longtime, active members of Arlington Memorial Baptist Church.  They moved their family to Munroe Falls in the late 60’s and she and Don worked together there for many years in their own ad agency.  They attended and became members of Riverwood Community Chapel in the mid-90’s.   Hazel retired after her husband’s death in 2006, however, she was an amazing, incredibly talented artist and she created many beautiful watercolors before her death. Preceded in death by her husband, Don; son, Dean Michael; and daughter, Lynn Marie. She is survived by three children, Wendy Jones, Dennis Heskett and Megan Heskett; and three grandsons, Dylan Heskett, Will Heskett, and Joshua Jones (wife Dawn Jones). Pastor Cole Tawney will lead a celebration of her life at Riverwood Community Chapel on Sunday, June 9, at 3PM, with a reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Riverwood Community Chapel, 1407 Fairfield Ave., Kent, Ohio 44240.
