Obituary of James E. Montgomery
STOW- James E. “Jim” Montgomery, 80, died May 27, 2013, as the result of a fall.
Born in Akron, he was a lifetime area resident, a former member of The Chapel and currently attended Christ Community Chapel. A US Navy veteran, he was a sales representative for Denton Mills and most recently worked for several area auto dealerships. Jim was active in sports and coached many years in the Stow Boys Baseball League.
Preceded in death by his parents Homer and Annabelle Montgomery and brother-in-law Dr. Dale Dodd; he is survived by his wife Diane, with whom he would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 28th; sons Todd (Donna), Troy (Ann), all of Stow; grandchildren Amanda (Bryan)Reed, Joshua and Noah Montgomery, Megan (Nathan) Flaker, Mackenzie (Ben) Miller and Brooks Montgomery; great-granddaughter Avery Reed; sisters Marie (Ralph) O’Neil of Munroe Falls, Marjorie (Walt) Nicholson of Silver Lake; brothers Homer (Jean) Montgomery of Silver Lake and William Montgomery of Farmville, VA and many other relatives and friends.
Friends are invited to Christ Community Chapel, 750 W. Streetsboro St., Hudson, for visitation Thursday from 4 to 8 PM, where Rev. David Schroyer will conduct service Friday 10:30 AM.
