Obituary of Donald Johns
CUYAHOGA FALLS- Donald P. (Don) Johns, 63, passed away May 24, 2013.
Born in Akron, he was a Cuyahoga Falls resident since 1989, had served six years in the Army National Guard and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Since 1974, Don has been owner and creative mind for both the Haunted School House and Laboratory in Akron. While Don loved the ocean, scuba diving and fishing, what he truly valued and loved above all was his family and his friends.
Don became a mentor to his family, friends and employees by sharing his strong work ethic, business sense, high expectations and creative abilities, along the way building respect and lifelong friendships.
Don was a wonderful father and Papa. Some of his most treasured moments were spent on “Papa Dates” with his two granddaughters.
Words cannot express how much he was loved and how much he will be missed.
Preceded in death by his parents Paul Johns and Helen Esbaugh, and brothers Danny and Michael Johns, he is survived by his wife of 42 years Cindy; daughter and son-in-law Aimee and Dave Dennison; his granddaughters who he loved dearly, Emily and Katelyn; sisters Vivian (Richard) Kraus, Donna (Dick) Best, Debbi (Georg) Weitzel, Tammy Parrish, Trisha Johns (Steve Poston); 15 nieces and nephews and step-mother Pat Scarberry.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM, where Rev. Keith Johnson will conduct funeral service Wednesday 11 AM. Burial Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Akron Children’s Hospital, Burn Unit, One Perkins Square, Akron, 44308.
