Obituary of John L. Kallaway
Dr. John (Cab) Kallaway, 85, died May 2, 2013.
Born May 17, 1926 in Shamokin, PA he was the son of Ella and Sydney Kallaway.
John was a graduate of Shamokin High School, Franklin and Marshall College and Temple University School of Dentistry. He practiced dentistry for 48 years mostly in Shamokin were he had a practice on Sunbury Street and then on Lincoln Street. He was a well loved and respected dentist in the area.
On March 23, 1963, in the Methodist church in Riverside, he married JoAnn McCloskey who predeceased him March 28, 2011.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Sydney, who died in World War II. John was also in the military as a Marine.
He is survived by JoAnn’s cousin, Cynthia (Thomas) Hetrick and her children, Kearstin (Christopher) Hamad MHand Chelsea Hetrick. He always enjoyed visits from Kayleigh Hamad and his dog, Snickers!
