Obituary of Rosemary Karg-Ritchie

TALLMADGE - Rosemary Karg-Ritchie, 81, passed away Thursday, May16 at home surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy battle with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer. She was born November 11, 1931 and was a 1950 graduate of Tallmadge High School. Rosemary is one of the founding members of Our Lady of Victory Church where she was actively involved in the Centering for Prayer group and a former member of the choir. The matriarch of the Running Ritchie family of Tallmadge, she became an official member of the club after completing her first 5k race at the age of 79½.   After years of loving service to her family, she spent her final years sitting in her sun room visiting with family and friends, watching the ferns blow in the wind and the Virgin Mary statue bask in the light. Preceded in death by parents Anthony and Alice Karg, daughter Cecilia, devoted husband Robert L., and brother Edward Karg. Survived by brother A. David Karg, 15 children and their spouses: Patrick (Patricia) Ritchie, Nathan (Laura) Ritchie, Teresa (Bob) Johnston, Rosemarie (Ernie) Mathie, Roberta Bauman, Shawn (Shawn) Ritchie, Erin Ritchie, Colleen Bell, Noreen (Michael) Stump, Shannan (Amy) Ritchie, Kathleen (David) Tucker, Kelly (Alan) Shumaker, Sharon (Fernando) Rodriguez, Eathan Ritchie, and Joshua (Jeannie) Ritchie.  Proud grandmother of 35: Joey (Becky), Leah, Tamra, Amanda, Christopher, Damion, Andrew, Derick, Maria, Justine, Anna, Noah, Porter, Nolan, Miranda, Sam, Aaron, Gabi, Gabriel, Olivia, Grace, Celia, Jarod, Isabel, Alexa, Eva, Natalia, Jack, Clay, Neal, Gianna, Brady, Levi, Antonio, and Luciana.  Doting great grandmother of Laurie Anne. Calling hours will be held at Redmon Funeral Home, Sunday May19th from 12 to 3 and 6 to 8 PM.  Mass of the Christian Burial Monday 10 AM at Our Lady of Victory, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge 44278, Fr. John Hengle celebrant.
