Obituary of Richard S. Spencer
STOW- Richard (Dick) S. Spencer, 73, died April 28, 2013.
Born in Cleveland, he had lived in Stow since 1963, served in the US Army National Guard and had retired in 2005 from the Master Marking Master Graphics Company. Dick was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, where he was a deacon and active volunteer with the food pantry. In his younger years, he was an avid golfer and league bowler and spent 15 years working with a racing team pit crew in the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America). Dick was also a stained glass artist.
Preceded in death by his parents Lowell and Mary (Downer) Spencer, he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joy; daughters Sharon (Frank) Fitch of Jackson Twp., Janet (Shayn) Weideman of Ravenna; grandchildren Erin and Courtney Fitch and sister Jean (Robert) Lefurgey of Hudson.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Wednesday 6 to 8 PM. Rev. J. Ross Slaughter will conduct funeral service Thursday 10:30 AM at The United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, 2819 Hudson Drive, Cuyahoga Falls 44221. Burial Crown Hill.
