Obituary of Cathy King
CUYAHOGA FALLS – Cathy King, 66, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on April 21, 2013 after a courageous four year battle with cancer.
Cathy was born in Canton, OH, on October 30, 1946, the sixth child of Russel and Hazel Cole. She moved to Cuyahoga Falls in 1983 and held positions at a number of firms before retiring from Dun and Bradstreet in 2009.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents and her oldest brother Ronald “Clinker”. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 29 years, Marvin; her son and daughter-in-law Shawn and Tammy and treasured grandchildren Trey, Rylee and Ian; sisters Diane (Eldon) Duesenberg, Penny Messenger and Vicki (Bill) Bailey; sister-in-law Donna Cole; brothers Tim Cole and Kim Cole; many loved and loving nieces and nephews, and dear lifetime friends Barb Brown, Marcia Grant and Mary Anne Walls.
Cathy’s family wishes to express heart-felt gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice Care Center for their gentle care and acts of kindness during Cathy’s illness.
Her family and friends are comforted by countless memories of a truly spectacular lady who embodied grace, lived in strength, served as an example, loved out loud, tended to beautiful flowers, fostered caring, gave the greatest hugs and kisses, and was happiest when surrounded by family who adored her.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Wednesday 6 to 8 PM. Rev. J. Ross Slaughter will conduct funeral service Thursday 11 AM at The United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, where Cathy was an active member, 2819 Hudson Drive, Cuyahoga Falls 44221. Burial Standing Rock Cemetery.
