Obituary of Barbara A. Gsellman
Barbara Anne (Wolfcale) Gsellman
June 26, 1927 – March 27, 2013
Bobbie, a lifetime area resident, died peacefully after a month of heart related complications. Introduced to Jesus, her Savior, by her 8th grade music teacher, she continued to live a life of faith exemplified by grace all her days. A graduate of Buchtel High School, she was one of the very first women to graduate from The University of Akron in Mechanical Engineering (1950). She retired from UA after teaching 33 years.
Her husband of 56 years, Richard, preceded her to heaven in 2006. Without exception her memory will be cherished by all who knew her especially her three sons, Robert, Mark and Patrick, their wives, her eight grandchildren and their spouses, her four great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law, nephew and two nieces. Her hospitality each Sunday for family dinners and on Tuesdays for the Breakfast Group will be fondly remembered.
She had been a member for 40 years at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Stow (3725 Kent Rd.) where a memorial service is planned for 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 11th. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 10 AM and at a luncheon afterwards.
Memorials may be made to Women in Engineering Program, The University of Akron, Akron, OH 44325-3901.
