Obituary of Arnetta Motes
Arnetta F. Motes, 83, passed away November 22, 2014, after a long and courageous battle against cancer.
She was born in Georgetown, KY, the daughter of Paul Griffith and Mary Cornell Thomason. Mrs. Motes was a devoted wife and mother whose quiet strength, love of laughter, and optimism provided guidance for her loved ones. She was an avid follower of current events, enjoyed cooking, board games, crossword and sudoku puzzles as well as other activities that challenged her mind. She was a champion of debate and yet the consummate lady who genuinely remained young at heart. Her strong faith and belief in God brought her much peace and comfort throughout her life, most importantly during these last several months.
She is survived by her husband Melven; brother Jim (Nancy) Thomason; sister Linda (Ollie) Covington, sister Diana (Mike) Belden; daughter Renee (Dave) Telling ; son Larry Scott (Denise) Motes; three grandchildren Trevor, Adam and Westin; step-children Wayne (Linda) Motes, Elaine (Ken) Barnes, and Darrell Motes, step-grandchildren Brian, Kim, Brett, Melanie, Darrell Jr., and their families.
Pastor Calvin Lamar Brown Sr. will conduct service at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29 at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2:00 until 5:00. Burial will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman OH at 11:15 on Monday, December 1. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Taussig Cancer Center at Cleveland Clinic.
