Obituary of Allen E. Bisbee
Allen E. Bisbee, 75, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 after a lengthy stay at Akron City Hospital.
He was born in Erie, PA on July 8, 1937 to Robert J. and Dorothy H. (Bray) Bisbee. After graduating from high school, he earned a bachelor’s degree from Nyack College and later went on to earn a master’s degree in education from SUNY-Fredonia. Allen served his country in Germany as a member of the United States Army from 1960-1962. In 1965, he began his teaching career at Mayville Central School where he served as the 6th grade teacher for 5 years. A lifelong educator and follower of Jesus, Allen and his wife, Nada (Loomis), served together as missionaries in Penang, Malaysia at the Dalat International School from 1971-1975. During their time on the mission field, they joyfully welcomed twins – a boy and a girl – to their family. Upon returning to the United States, Allen taught 5th grade at Chapel Hill Christian School for 20 years. He also worked as the Retail Manager at Frecka Plumbing for 18 years until his retirement in 2009. Allen was devoted to the Christian & Missionary Alliance denomination and served in several churches as a Sunday School teacher and church board member.
Left to honor Allen and cherish his faithful legacy are his beloved wife of 49 years Nada, and their two children Daniel (Karin) Bisbee of Mechanicsburg, PA and Darlene (Jack) Risjan of Akron ; three sweet grandchildren, Samuel, Noah, and Sarah will hold fond memories of Grandpa in their hearts and will miss him dearly. He is also survived by his older sister, Roberta Mae (Dallas) Adams of Ripley, NY.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Allen’s life at a service planned for Saturday, January 5, at 10 a.m. at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow. Pastor John Kitchen will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 4 and again from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will follow the funeral at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. The family extends sincere thanks to Rick and Barb Frecka, the acute palliative care staff at Akron City Hospital, and the members of Stow Alliance Fellowship for their care and concern.
