Obituary of Charles R. Barker

BRIMFIELD-  Charles R. “Charlie” Barker, 83, died December 30, 2012. Born in Cuyahoga Falls, he was a lifetime area resident, a US Marine Corps veteran and member of the American Legion.  He retired from Ohio Edison in 1987 after 37 years service, was founder and owner of Stow Electric for over 20 years and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.   Charlie had served the City of Stow as a councilman from 1968 until 1976 and as a past-president of the Stow Historical Society.  One of the greatest joys of his life was the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Joanne E. (nee Caracciolo), son Mike (Viola) Barker; daughter Lynn (Bob) Sipe; grandchildren Judy (Greg) Landis, Jason (Meg) Bugg and Allison (Todd) Wheaton; great-grandchildren Chase and Mason Niskanen; sisters Shirlie Ewing and Carol (Tim) Miller. Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Thursday 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m.  Mass of the Christisan Burial Friday 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stow.  Private interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
