Obituary of Clara Gibbs
Margaret Gibbs passed away peacefully at the Briarwood Skilled Nursing Facility in Stow, Ohio, following a slow decline. She was 101 years of age.
Born Clara Margaret Cook, in Quincy Illinois, the only child of Willis and Berdina Cook of Paloma, Illinois, she was raised in that small farming community. She graduated from Quincy High School and attended MacMurray College for Women in Jacksonville, Illinois graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1932. She married Carlin F. Gibbs, PhD of Golden, Illinois. They moved to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio in the mid 1930’s and became homeowners in Silver Lake, Ohio in 1940, where they resided thereafter. Following the passing of her husband, after 60 years of marriage in 2006, declining health required increased nursing support in recent years.
