Obituary of Lois Ann Kaptein

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Lois Kaptein was born on January 3, 1928 in Akron, Ohio and went to be with her Lord on February 4, 2015. She was 87 years old, and passed away peacefully of natural causes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Kaptein; and two sons, Curt and Dale Kaptein. She is survived by her daughter, Frieda Ebel (Jerry); her son, George Kaptein (Donna); her six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and extended family members. Mom had four major loves: her Lord, her husband, her children and her brothers and sisters. She spent her entire life in Ohio. She loved the state, especially enjoying the Cuyahoga Valley park system and Lake Erie. Mom spent her early years raising her children and being involved in the Nazarene Church. After her family was grown she went into the workforce and retired at age 62. Her church was important to her and because of her involvement she was awarded the Nazarene Church Christian Service Merit Award for her contribution. Mom loved nature. A delight for her was a ride with a family member throughout northeastern Ohio. She loved the fall season and the changing of the leaves. Mom was our buddy and we will miss her greatly. Funeral service will be held Friday at 2 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends may call from 11 AM until service time. Interment Rose Hill Burial Park.
