Obituary of Melvin B. Achberger

STOW- Melvin B. Achberger, 95, formerly of Cuyahoga Falls, died September 19, 2012. Born in Akron, he had lived in Cuyahoga Falls over 60 years, had been a member of Akron Lodge #83 F & AM, the Acacia Club and the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls.  Melvin retired from B.F. Goodrich in 1981 after 41 years, served in the Army Air Force during WWII and was a member of the Goodrich 20 Year Club. Preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, son Donn and grandson Brett, he is survived by daughter Laura (Hal) Johnston; granddaughter Katie (Chris) Hodge; daughter-in-law Peggy Achberger. Pastor Jim Case will conduct service Sunday 3 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends are invited for visitation from 1 PM until service time. Masonic service Sunday 3 PM at the funeral home. Burial Monday 10:30 AM at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
