Obituary of Ruth L. Joslyn

HUDSON- Ruth L. “Honey” Joslyn, 84, died September 1, 2012. Born in Rockford, IL March 28, 1928, Ruth was the oldest daughter of Edgar and Alice Lilja. She attended the University of Illinois majoring in Child Development until she was swept off her feet by handsome William Joslyn. They married on May 7, 1949. Four beautiful children followed and eventually thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Young children were always her delight. She volunteered with the Junior League doing children’s theater, and bringing classic art into the schools. She loved decorating her homes and was a gracious hostess and loyal friend to many. Ruth and Bill retired from Rockford to Sarasota and built a home and a new life in Florida. After Bill’s death she moved to Hudson to be near daughter Ann and Kris Jaenicke and moved to Laurel Lake. She loved living at Laurel Lake and made so many wonderful friends there. Honey's faith in her loving Lord grew over the years as she attended Christ Community Chapel. Last year at eighty-three she travelled to Paris, California, Colorado and Florida visiting her family. Her passion for faith, family, friends, and travel are wonderful testaments to a life well lived. She was loved by all who were fortunate to have known her. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband William and brother Robert. She is survived by her daughters Ann (Kris) Jaenicke of Hudson, Deb (Gary) Light of Loveland, CO; sons Bill (Marie-Christine) Joslyn of Paris, France and Robert Joslyn of Orlando, FL; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister Mary (Joe) Cech of Davis, CA and sister-in-law Pam Lilja. Pastor Joe Coffey will conduct service Saturday 11 AM at Christ Community Chapel, 750 W. Streetsboro St., Hudson, OH 44236, where friends may call from 9:30 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Community Chapel.
