Obituary of Elbert Byron Clark

Elbert “Al” Byron Clark, 94, went to be with the Lord on August 12, 2012.  He was born in TN on October 5, 1917, grew up in Akron and graduated from South High School.  He went into the Army after graduation and was a WWII Army veteran. In February 1947 he married his love, Lois Stone, and in November they welcomed their only child Sherry. He worked for the U. S. Postal Service and Monarch Printing until 1980.  Al attended Steeles Corners Church from 1967 until he passed and was a Deacon at the church. His son-in-law Dan was his care giver the last few years of his life. He is survived by his daughter Sherry (Dan) David, granddaughters Brandy (Terry) Hollis, Nicky (Dan) Durachinsky, great-grandchildren Jordan, Isaiah, Natasha, Caleb, Joslyn, brother Alton (Dolly) Clark and many other family and friends. Friends are invited to the Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM, where Pastor Shaun McNea will conduct service Thursday 1 PM.  Interment Chestnut Hill Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by American Legion Falls Post 281.  Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Steeles Corners Church, 3996 State Road, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44224.  Mr. Clark's video tribute may be viewed here.
