Obituary of Mary Hanson Collins

STREETSBORO - Mary Hanson Collins, 80, died July 27, 2012. Born in Akron, she was raised on Hanson’s Dairy Farm in Stow and attended Kent State University.   She was always extremely involved in her communities, from volunteering with the Board of Elections, to helping students in the Streetsboro school system or with 4-H.  Mary loved to spend time with her family, read her Bible, golf and serve in various ministries with her church, Christ Community Chapel in Hudson.  Preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Celia (Darrow) Hanson, daughter Karen Collins O’Neal, brother Alden Hanson and sister-in-law Kay Hanson, she is survived by her childhood friend and husband of 57 ½  years Denver, Jr.;  son Denver Dean (Chris) of Hudson; daughter Sharen (Lanny) Nowak of Texas; son-in-law David (Susan) O’Neal of Vermont and grandchildren Mary, Denver, John, Thomas and Katie. Mary's family would like to thank Dr. Matthew Chase and the team of doctors and nurses at Summa - Akron City for their concern and wonderful care of Mary. Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Tuesday  4 to 8 PM.  Pastor Roland Coffey will conduct service Wednesday 10 AM at Christ Community Chapel, 750 W.
