Obituary of Bessie M. Houk
Bessie (Paxton) Till Houk, born December 7, 1927 died July 22, 2012. Bessie was born in Ravenswood, WV to Alfred and Vallie Paxton. She moved to Cuyahoga Falls in 1948 where she lived for many years. She worked for Goodyear International, married and raised her family and was very active in the former North Hill Christian Church. Bessie loved her piano, gardens, cooking for her family and making sure they were all together for many events. She was a kind and giving soul who made everyone her friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters, her husband Paul Houk, Jr. in 2002, son John Houk Sr. and his wife Mary in 2009. Left behind to miss her are her daughters Becky Till (Steve) Lutz, Lynn (John) Fauvie, Bonnie (Steve) St. Jean and Debbie (Mike) Kostensky, also are grandchildren; Eric, Craig and Breanne (Jones) St. Jean, Courtney and John Houk Jr., Hope, Heather, Cody, and Holly Kostensky and Elise Christie Fauvie, great-grandchildren, Iceis and Quintessence. Also left behind are her one remaining sister-in-law, Leah Paxton, cousins, nephews, nieces and many friends.
The family would like to thank her loving family, for the 8 ¼ years at The Briarwood in Stow and her recent care from Hospice of AGMC Visiting Nurse Service.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Wednesday 4 to 8 PM, where Rev. Jonathan Rumburg will conduct service Thursday 10:30 AM. Burial Oakwood Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.
