Obituary of Allan E. Hayes
STOW- Allan E. Hayes, 79, died July 17, 2012.
Born in Canton, he was a US Army veteran, a Stow resident over 20 years and had retired as an accountant from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in 1996 after 37 years of service. Mr. Hayes was a member of Cuyahoga Falls Lodge #735 F & AM, Scottish Rite, Commandery, and the White Shrine of Jerusalem. An active member of First Christian Church of Stow, Allan sang in the choir and served on Finance Committee as well as the painting crew for the church renovations. Mr. Hayes also enjoyed the time that he spent coaching softball.
Preceded in death by his parents Merle and Wanda, and sister Lorraine Gilson, he is survived by his wife of 54 years Shirley; son Robert A. of Stow; sisters Beverly (Chuck) Gilson of Florida and Carolyn Hayes of Coventry and brother Melvin (Dee) Hayes of Wadsworth, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Sunday 6 to 9 PM, where White Shrine of Jerusalem service will be held at 6:30 PM and Masonic service by Cuyahoga Falls Lodge #735 F & AM at 8:30 PM. Funeral service Monday 11 AM at First Christian Church of Stow, Rev. Jonathan Rumburg officiating. Visitation Monday at the church from 10 AM until service time. Burial Northlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Charles Faust American Legion Post #281. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to First Christian Church of Stow, 3493 Darrow Road, Stow 44224.
