Obituary of Lucretia Mary Musci

Lucretia Mary Musci (DeOrio), still graceful and beautiful at 70, passed away May 3rd, 2012 at Maison Aine in Stow, Ohio following a very courageous ten-year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Lucretia, born on March 3rd, 1942 in Akron, Ohio, was a beloved daughter, wife, friend, and mother. She was preceded in death by husband Frank Musci “the love of her life”, adoring parents Roxy and Mildred DeOrio, and loving mother-in-law Elizabeth Sabatina. Lucretia is survived by her three children, their spouses, and her four grandchildren; Christopher Musci and Geoffry Gertz of NYC; Anita and Ron Zimcosky, children Emily and Zoe of Stow; Natalie and Tim Perrin, children Zachary and Noah of Cuyahoga Falls; and father–in-law Max Sabatina of Akron. Always happy, friendly, and caring, Lucretia had a gift for enjoying her journey through life. She gave her children the gifts of optimism, generosity, and tenacity. Lucretia graduated from Buchtel High School Class of 1960 and briefly attended The University of Akron. She married Frank in 1963 and started a family right away. They enjoyed 20 years together before his death in 1983. Lucretia was a caregiver and comfort to him throughout his battle with cancer. Shortly after, she joined the outside workforce offering childcare services and then joined Fitness Wholesale. She later became a caregiver again to her mother and “best friend” Mildred. Lucretia retired from Fitness Wholesale after 17 years in 2004. Throughout the years, she cherished the love and support of her girlfriends, the “HOT LBs” (Highland Out To Lunch Bunch). Lucretia was one of God’s soldiers on Earth and we know he was first in line to welcome her to heaven with open arms and a thank you.
