Obituary of Charles A. Pfahl
Charles A.Pfahl (Chick) born August 13, 1923 in Akron, OH, died April 24, 2012 at the ageof 88.
Chickgraduated from Buchtel High School in 1941 and attended the University ofAkron, where he was a member of the Lone Star fraternity. He joined the Army and trained as a B-17 andB-29 bomber pilot during WWII. AfterWWII Chick graduated from Akron University with a BSME and joined the familybusiness, XX Century Furnace. Later heentered the oil business with Phillips Petroleum and finished his working careerwith United Technologies (Bryant Heating and Air Conditioning) in Indianapolis,IN. Chick was a life member of TrinityLutheran Church and a recovering alcoholic since 1959. Chick and Barbara loved to travel, andvisited Europe, Australia, Far East, Africa and numerous other countries.
Chick waspreceded in death by his younger brother John and wife Barbara (Sigmon). He is survived by sons Robert (Debra) ofStow, OH, Charles (Sharon) of Albuquerque, NM., brother Frank (Isabelle) ofAkron, sister-in-law Floradelle Pfahl of Columbus, OH, granddaughter AnnelieseKilpatrick (John), great-granddaughters Jacqueline and Sara, great-grandsonAidan, all of Long Island, NY, and grandson Michael Pfahl of Cuyahoga Falls,OH.
Chick has been cremated, a service for the family and friends will be held at a laterdate.
