Obituary of Ray William Hickey

STOW – Ray William Hickey, 64, died March 25, 2012. A lifetime area resident, he proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. Ray received the gift of life on Father’s Day in 1998 when he received a lung transplant, and his family is forever grateful for his donor’s family. He enjoyed competing in the Transplant Games and was employed by Meggitt Aircraft Breaking Systems. Preceded in death by his parents Haden and Notie and twin brother Rudy, he is survived by his wife of 40 years, JoAnn; daughters Amber (Jeremy) Michael of Stow and Amanda (Justin) Evans of Columbus; sisters Patsy (Dale) Bryner of Brimfield and Deborah (Fred) Greenfeld of Colorado; brother Darryl (Debbie) Hickey of Colorado; mother-in-law Almeda Cowley; sister-in-law Barbara Hickey and a host of other relatives and friends. Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Tuesday 4 to 8 PM, where Pastor Jim Case will conduct service Wednesday at 12 Noon. Burial at Silver Springs Cemetery.
