Obituary of Kenneth James Henry

KENT – Kenneth James Henry, 88, died February 20, 2012. Mr. Henry was a longtime resident of Hempfield Township, Pennsylvania where he was a member of the building committee at Harrold Zion Lutheran Church and performed in numerous church cantatas. Later he was an Elder of the Jeannette Presbyterian Church and a memberof the Masonic Lodge. When he retired he moved to Canfield, Ohio where he was a volunteer at the Canfield Historical Society and a member of the Canfield Presbyterian Church. Most recently he was a resident of Kent and a member of the Stow Presbyterian Church. He retired from Peoples Natural Gas as Director of Marketing after 40 years of dedicated service. Mr. Henry proudly served his country in WWII as a Sgt. in the U.S. Army, where he received the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars. Preceded in death by his first wife Mary Jane, infant son and parents James and Alberta, he is survived by his wife of 38 years, Martha (Jones Kunkle); daughters Lisa (Arne) Anderson of Greer, South Carolina and Janelle (George) Wargo of Kent; grandchildren Brandon, Colin and Jordan Anderson, Neil (Melissa) Fisher of Green, Alicia (Scott) Gauer of Stow, and Lindsay (Ryan) Loew of Roanoke, Virginia; great-grandchildren Brynn, Allie, Channing, Gavin and Emma and many other relatives and friends. Friends are invited to the Redmon Funeral Home for visitation, Thursday 4 to 7 PM and Friday 10 to 11 AM at Stow Presbyterian Church, where Dr. David Weyrick will conduct a funeral service at 11 AM. A graveside service will be held at Harrold Zion Church Cemetery, Greensburg, PA on Saturday at 1 PM.
