Obituary of Lillian Allen

Lillian Allen, 93, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on February 15, 2012.  Our beloved mom, grandma, and great-grandma was surrounded by her family.  For 52 years, she was a member of the Chapel of Prayer Baptist Church in Akron.  She enjoyed needlework, puzzles, reading, camping, and fishing on Lake Okeechobee.  Lillian spent many happy winters in Florida with her husband of 58 years, Arvel Allen, now deceased.  Most of all she enjoyed her family.  Born on October 15, 1918 in Oak Park, NC, to James and Frances Raper, she moved to Stow in 1945.  Remaining sibling is Hoyt Raper.  Deceased siblings are Marcus, Tom, Wendel, Bud, Dorothy and Pearly.  She has numerous half-siblings: Reba Jean, Marie, Gertrude, Maggie, Louise, Mary, Irene, Guy, Goldman, Ike, Truman and Henry; nieces and nephews; special friend Judie Messman; special pet Dobie; daughters Flo Allen and Jean (Joe) Giulitto; grandchildren, Michael (Carol) Giulitto and Paula (Larry Sutter) Giulitto; great-grandchildren Jessica and Emily Giulitto, and seven great-granddogs.  Friends are invited to the Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow for visitation Sunday from 1 to 4 PM and where Rev. Sherman Bailey will conduct service Monday, 10 AM.  Interment Stow Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Portage Animal Protective League or the Building Fund of the Chapel of Prayer Baptist Church in Akron.
