Obituary of Lorene B. Clugh
STOW- Lorene B. Clugh, 81, died January 2, 2012.
Born in Toledo June 24, 1930, she was an area resident since 1952, received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Ohio State University in 1952 and her master’s degree in Special Education from Kent State University in 1976. Lorene taught special education at the Oviatt St school in Hudson, retiring in 1985. She was a member of The Chapel for several years where she taught a special ministry class and later a member of Broadman Baptist Church in Cuyahoga Falls where she also taught Sunday school. She also attended Grace Baptist Church in Akron for several years.
Preceded in death by her parents Dr. Nolen Thomas (“Tex”) Barnes and Grace E. Daily, she is survived by her daughters Barbara (Corky Larson), Laurie (Jeff Pellizzari), and Christine (Greg Knotts), Clugh; grandchildren Shannon Nitzsche and John Clugh Pellizzari, and brother Nolen Thomas (Marley) Barnes, Jr.
Special thanks to the WONDERFUL staff at Stow-Glen Skilled Nursing for taking such great care of our mother. Mother's great faith and love of our Lord Jesus helped her through life's trials with her favorite verse being Philippians 4:6-7.
Pastor Gregg Jacobsen will conduct a memorial service at 12 noon on Friday Jan 13, 2012 at Crown Hill Cemetery chapel, 8592 Darrow Rd. Twinsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haven of Rest and Harvest Home where she had volunteered, 175 E Market St, Akron 44308.
