Obituary of Loren W. Swensen
Loren W. Swensen, 84 , formerly of Munroe Falls, passed away at his home in Jacksonville, Fl. on December 27, 2011. He was born in Mansfield, Ohio on May 7, 1927.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, in 1980, sister, Ann Swensen White and is survived by daughter Keri (Shawn) Hager, sons Loren Thomas (Beverly), Todd (Helene), nephew Brent White, cousins Mary Ellen Dachel, Katherine Mikelson, Roger and William Stiles, sister in law Carolyn Graham (Jim), nieces Michelle and Susan Roka and grandchildren Lyni, Ally, Kelly and Jeff.
Loren served his country in the United States Army Air Force from 1944 to 1947 with the 717th Air Material Squadron, earning a WWII Victory Medal.
He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Tech University and worked in the trucking industry for his entire career with Mack Trucks, Roadway Express and P.I.E. Nationwide.
Loren enjoyed aircraft, trains, ships and all forms of auto racing and raced Stock Cars in his youth.
Friends and family are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Thursday from 6 to 8 PM where a memorial service will be conducted Thursday 7 PM. Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park late January 2012.
