Obituary of Carol Lewis Burgan

STOW - Carol Lewis Burgan, 92 years, passed away on October 27, 2014. Carol was raised in Kitts Hill, Ohio. She moved to Columbus at the age of 18, she attended Business School and met and married Dean Burgan of Akron. After living in Akron, Columbus, and Portland, Oregon, Carol, Dean and their 3 children settled in Stow in 1969. Carol was a wonderful and caring wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother. She will be remembered for her love of golf, bridge, puzzles and owls and her overall positive attitude.  “That’s Life“, was her approach to any obstacles she had encountered. Pre-deceased by husband Dean in 2010; parents Elmer and Goldie Lewis; in-laws Dean and Elizabeth Burgan; brother Elmer and sister-in-law Eloise Lewis; sister Helen Baldwin; and brother-in-law Bruce Burgan. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Richard (Yoshiko) Burgan, Stephen (Rebecca ) Burgan, and Cathleen ( Edwin) Beacom; grandchildren Cody Beacom, Alexander Burgan, Casey Beacom, and Elizabeth Burgan; sister Wanda (Willard) Willis; sister-in-law Ruth Burgan, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Thank you to Emeritus of Stow and Summa Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Mom. She will be truly missed by all whose lives she touched. Donations in Carol’s memory can be made to Cuyahoga Falls Women’s Club, Stow Women’s Club or a charity of your choice. Private graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
