Obituary of Armand S. Thierfelder
STOW- Armand Stuart Thierfelder, 83, passed away October 24, 2011 at Akron City Hospital. Besides living in Milwaukee, he also resided in Cuba, Pennsylvania, California and Ohio. He served in the Armed Forces during World War II on Guam and Japan and was assigned to General Headquarters, Far East Command. He also served many years as president of the Stow Pee Wee Football Assoc. and the Stow Senior High School Booster Club.
Armand was a businessman and entrepreneur who owned many local and international businesses. He was instrumental in manufacturing the first transistors, as well as the first ballistic missile in the U. S. arsenal. He founded the National Computer Service Corp. in 1967, one of the first computer service bureaus in the nation. Armand retired in 1990 and traveled the world with his wife, after which they traveled North America in their motorhome for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Dorlenne, son Scott of Stow, stepchildren Debra, Sandra and Jeffery Hart.
Friends are invited to the Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM, where Pastor Jim Case will conduct service Thursday 1 PM. Interment Rose Hill Burial Park.
