Obituary of Perry J. Chronister
Wanting to join his Savior, Perry J. Chronister 88, went home to be with the Lord August 9, 2011.
He was born to Louis Perry Chronister and Odessa (Ward) Chronister. Born in Cuyahoga Falls, he was a long time resident until moving to Stow in1963. He proudly served in the US Army Air Forces in the Pacific during World War II. A former member of the Chapel, he served as Associate Pastor and Bible teacher at Mogadore Baptist church 22 years and at Brady Lake Baptist Church prior to that. Having a compassion for people and a burden for their spiritual destination he had many services and Bible studies at nursing homes and senior apartments and loved a ministry of visitation. He retired from Loral in 1984 after 33 years service.
Never wanting the praise,he lived his life for the Lord, his wife, and his family. He lovingly stepped in to be a father to his grandson, Perry, and adored his other grandchildren, Teri, Becky, Daniel, Jim, Rob, and Jon. Every single one of his great grandchildren held a special place in his heart.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty L.; daughters Lynne (Jay) Detrow, Nancy (Dave) Carroll, Maryanne Chronister; 7 grandchildren; 17 Great grandchildren; sister Carrie (Bill) Lane, sister in law Sherrie Chronister, many nieces and nephews and a wonderful church family as well as many dear friends.
Pastors Robert Seymour and David Carroll will conduct service Saturday 11:30 AM at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends may call from 9 AM until service time. Burial Monday 10 AM at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, with military honors provided by Charles Faust American Legion Post 281. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mogadore Baptist Church 3750 Albrecht Ave., Akron 44312.
