Obituary of Josephine Hogan Federonich

STOW-  Josephine M. “Jo”  Hogan Federonich , 87, died August 6, 2011. Born in Cuyahoga Falls, she was a lifetime resident of Stow and an active member of both St. Vincent Catholic Church and the church choir.  Mrs. Federonich had been employed with the Stow schools in the cafeterias at both Echo Hills and Fishcreek Elementary schools and was a member of the Red Hat Society.  Jo enjoyed singing and visiting area nursing homes with the Eileen and Friends choral group . Preceded in death by her first husband Richard Hogan, by second husband Pete Federonich; parents John and Loyetta Dolan; sisters Marguerite Schafer, Ruth-Ann Tighe and Jeannine Nichols;  brothers Roy, Eugene and John Dolan and sister-in-law Maureen Dolan, she is survived by her daughter Patty Hogan of Stow; sons Steven (Peggy) Hogan of Akron, Lawrence (Barbara) Hogan of Houston, TX; grandchildren Richard (Aru) Hogan of Delaware, Erin (Nadine) , Daniel  and Katie Hogan, all of TX, Corey Hogan of Akron; great-grandchildren Griffin, Nolan, Meredith, Shay and Maya, sisters Mary (Fred) Schaffer and Rebecca White; special friend Don Johnston and all her friends at Silver Lake Towers and many other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Ridgewood Healthcare Center for their loving care of Jo. I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.  I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the way Of happy times and laughing times And bright and sunny  days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve To dry before the sun Of happy memories that I leave When life is done.   Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Tuesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.  Mass of the Christian Burial Wednesday 9:30 AM at St. Vincent Catholic Church, 164 W. Market Street, Akron 44303, Fr. Joseph Kraker celebrant.    Burial Stow Cemetery.  Should friends desire, memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, 47 E.
