Obituary of June Shriver Phillips
June Shriver Phillips, 87, died July 27 in Huron, OH.
Born in Kent, OH, she attended Kent State University High School and Kent State University. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Phillips and his son Richard (Merida, Canyon Lake, CA) and sons Christopher and Rex.
She is survived by brother Parker Shriver (Joan), Fox Point, WI; daughters Pam Leszynski (Fred), Huron, OH; Karen Koch (Brian), Hartville, OH; and son Eric, VA, 9 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
As a homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, traveling, and cooking. She served as treasurer of Friends of Stow Library and Stow Democrat Club, was a member of Stow Study Club and a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church of Kent.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local Alzheimer’s Association or to the Friends of the Stow –Munroe Falls Public Library, 3512 Darrow Road, Stow, OH 44224.
Calling hours will be Thursday, August 4, 4 to 8 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, OH.
Memorial service will be held Friday, August 5 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Kent, 1435 East Main Street, Kent, OH.
