Obituary of Marshall Cunningham
Marshall C. Cunningham “Sonny” was born in Cuyahoga Falls at home on November 23, 1935 to parents Marshall and Pauline (Franks). He was a brother to Mary Jane Whited (deceased), Judy Ramsey (deceased) and Robert Cunningham. They moved to Hudson Township in 1946 and Sonny helped clear his Dad’s farm located on Sullivan Road. This hard work instilled a strong work ethic in him for later years. Sonny spent most of his life running a masonry and concrete business. He eventually built a home on the family property in 1960, where he and his family resided until 1974. Sonny then bought the property across the road from the family farm and lived there until about 1986 and, after selling the property, has lived a happy/go/lucky life ever since. Sonny loved life. He enjoyed being with friends and family, fishing, going to Florida in the winter months and loved to reminisce and tell stories. Sonny died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Robinson Memorial Hospital. He had undergone major surgery a week earlier for cancer and was doing quite well until his heart suddenly stopped. Sonny will be missed by many friends and family but especially by his children, Mike (Marilyn), Shelly and Tim.
We would like to give a special thank you to Dr. John Gusz, the residents and staff at Kent Health Care, where Sonny had spent the last 4 months before surgery and to Grace Baptist Church
